La première grande image de Jan van Haasteren date de 1975. Le dessin « Shooting Pool » a suscité une forte demande pour ce type d'affiches publicitaires. Les affiches étaient très populaires et, en 1980, Jumbo a décidé d'en publier une sous forme de puzzle. Ce fut un grand succès. Shooting Pool a ainsi été à l'origine de la célèbre marque de puzzles.
