End of year celebrations: how to organise a festive event at work?
The holiday season is all about family fun, but it is also a good time to brighten up the atmosphere at the office. Do you feel like it, but don't know where to start? We reveal our ideas tested and approved by the Bruneau team, and give you some tips to adapt them during the Covid period.
Create a group time capsule
- Take a box and ask your colleagues to put something in it, a good intention, a photo of a key moment from the past year... For even more fun, ask them to make a prediction for the coming year!
- Then store the capsule safely away until next year.
- And next Christmas, treat yourself to a real flashback (and a few laughs) when the capsule is opened.
Play "Father Christmas" (all of you!)
At Bruneau, we have made it a habit to organise a "Secret Santa". The idea is to buy a Christmas present without knowing to whom it will be given. We determine a budget (€ 5 for example), a theme (green, geek, colour ... let your imagination run wild) and a date for handing over the gifts. On the big day, during a team meal, every one chooses a gift and tries to guess who gave it. Fun guaranteed! During an epidemic, the team meal in the restaurant can be replaced by discreetly placing the gift on the colleague's desk. And for even more fun, you can leave an anonymous note with clues about your identity. :)
Dare to decorate
OK, we admit it: this idea is not the most original. But between us, it's still fun to bring out the garlands, trees and baubles, isn't it? And to put it to the test, a competition of office decorations (the most kitschy/tasteful...) can bring colour and cheer to the dark days of December.
Organise a detox breakfast
I don't know about you, but at Bruneau we almost get a liver attack in December! So let's organise a 100% healthy breakfast to celebrate the beginning of the year. On the menu: smoothies, fresh fruit skewers and mini pancakes. Your colleagues (and your body) will thank you. The right anti-contamination reflex: appoint one person to serve your colleagues, after washing their hands of course.
Trigger a wave of solidarity
The end of the year is also an opportunity to think of the less fortunate and to give your company's employees the chance to do a good deed. This can be done in various ways: collecting toys or food, organising a raffle for a good cause, etc. It is fun, generous and good for team spirit.
