Protective mask: how to prevent your glasses from fogging up?
Wearing a protective mask is essential to limit the risks of contamination. On the other hand, as far as comfort is concerned, many professionals wearing glasses complain about the fogging of their lenses. Are you in this situation? We have collected some anti-fogging tips for you.
Clean your spectacle lenses with an anti-fog product
As a first step, you can wash your glasses so that they do not fog up.
There are two ways to do this:
With water and soap: clean your glasses, shake them and then let them dry in the open air. The soap leaves a thin layer on the lenses that protects them from fogging up for a few hours.
With spectacle wipes: these wipes are specially designed to leave no residue and prevent fogging up, and are particularly useful when wearing a face mask.
Choose the right mask
If you have a choice, choose a protective face mask with a flexible metal clip that allows you to adjust it to the bridge of your nose and prevent your glasses from fogging up.
Wash your hands before handling the mask and plaster.
Cut a small piece of plaster and stick it onto the top of the mask, making it overlap.
Position the mask by sticking the protruding plaster to the bridge of your nose.
Attach the mask and put your glasses over it.
Place a handkerchief or tissue between the mask and the skin.
Another simple tip to prevent fogging is to place a tissue between your nose and the protective mask. The tissue absorbs the moisture from your breathing.
Here is how you should proceed:
Take off your glasses.
Wash your hands before touching mask and tissue.
Fold the paper tissue into a narrow strip.
Place the folded tissue on top of the mask.
Place the mask and tissue on your face.
Attach the mask and put your glasses back on.
Add a wire to your fabric mask

Some food packages (bread bags, freezer bags, etc.) are closed with small, sometimes flat, flexible threads: set them aside for a mini sewing workshop. By incorporating a thread into the lining at the top of the mask, you can easily adapt the mask to your nose and thus stop the condensation towards the lenses.
